ACS Q&A on July 7 at 1pm

Advanced Consciousness Studies (ACS) is a 27-week dive into beliefs, values and presence. Offered by CSL Santa Rosa on Zoom beginning Thursday evening, September 19, this course is open to anyone desiring a deeper exploration of and engagement with the teachings of Science of Mind. A call to becoming a practitioner is not necessary though completion of ACS is a prerequisite for the one-year Professional Prayer Practitioner Studies course. The course is also open to individuals outside the Center for Spiritual Living Santa Rosa.

Course Content

This course invites you on a journey toward what it means to practice the Science of Mind and to be both fully human and fully divine. Term One focuses on your hidden beliefs and how your life got to be the way it is. Term Two suggests ways to incorporate Science of Mind principles and practices into your daily life to create the life you desire. Finally, Term Three explores what it means to embrace all of life.

Two Textbooks for the Course

  1. The Science of Mind, by Ernest Holmes

  2. The Ernest Holmes Papers, compiled by George P. Bendall (replaces Living the Science of Mind)

In addition, in the third term, students will read some chapters in This Thing Called You by Ernest Holmes. You may be able to borrow a copy from a friend or your local library

Tuition

For the 27-week course, including a one-day retreat: $825 if paid in full or $855 if paid in 4 installments. All students pay a $100 deposit when accepted into ACS. Full payment is due by September 9; those paying in installments make payments by the second class of each term. The first term balance due is $185; the payment is $285 for the second and third terms.

Here are some comments about the course from 2023-24 ACS participants:

  • “YES! I would encourage a friend to take ACS because it is better than therapy! It looks at a lot of things I had not considered before…companioning a dying person…how my buttons can get pushed…and a new definition of vulnerability.”

  • “My individuality was welcomed and encouraged; and there wasn’t much if any ‘busy work’.”

  • “I would encourage anyone to take this class who is serious about it. They would need to know that it is challenging and at times difficult, but well worth it.”
