Start Where You Are: A Path to Unconditional Friendliness

It is a common experience to feel that we must change or improve ourselves before we can truly experience peace. 

Many of us carry a subtle habit of self-criticism, waging a quiet war against who we are in this moment. 

There is a more supportive way to live, one that begins with the realization that your inherent wholeness is already present and fully available to you.

Beginning Thursday, May 7, we invite you to join us for a four-week journey: Start Where You Are.

The Practice of Radical Acceptance

This course explores the profound teachings of Pema Chödrön through the supportive lens of Science of Mind. We focus on acceptance as a dynamic spiritual practice, shifting from the desire to "fix" ourselves to the power of simply being with ourselves.

By cultivating a friendlier relationship with our own lives, we naturally change the way we interact with the world around us.

During these four weeks, you will explore:

  • The Wisdom of Maitri: Discover the practice of unconditional friendliness toward yourself, allowing for a more compassionate inner dialogue.

  • The Strength of Tonglen: Learn this traditional meditation practice to lean into life with an open heart and a steady presence.

  • The Truth of Wholeness: Align with the Science of Mind teaching that wholeness is your natural state. It is something you already are, rather than a goal you must build toward.

A Supportive Space for Growth

Led by Jan Svoboda, RScP, each session is designed to be a sanctuary for self-discovery. Whether you are new to these ideas or a longtime practitioner, you will find value in our shared exploration.

Each week includes:

  • Guided Meditation: Quiet the mind and settle into the present moment.

  • Journaling and Reflection: Gain clarity on your personal habits and internal patterns.

  • Affirmative Prayer: Use the power of focused intention to anchor yourself in spiritual truth.

  • Group Conversation: Connect with a community of like-minded individuals in a safe, online environment.
